Technology can be useful. But it can also be misused. And now more than ever we exchange convenience and utility for our privacy. Sometimes the convenience and utility is even left out of the equation and our data is simply bartered and sold without our knowledge let alone consent. This site is dedicated to useful tech that is available for home and personal use that respects privacy, is affordable, and is actually very useful. We will discuss why we chose it, it’s pros and cons, and how to implement it. Most of the technology is free and open source yet most required some level if additional integration which we will share in source code form so that anyone can learn and use the information presented here.

We should all be very worried about the evasive nature of ‘big tech’ in our everyday lives. Most are not, and therein lies the problem. People simply don’t realize or understand what they are bringing into their home, how it is being used to monitor their every move. The mantra of “I have nothing to hide” no longer applicable in this current environment and simply indicates a lack of true understanding of what is going on in today’s world.
